Prepare the Tooth
Dr. Lopez carefully prepares your tooth by removing any decay and shaping it to receive the crown. Because CEREC® crowns fit so precisely, we typically need to remove less healthy tooth structure than traditional methods.
Digital 3-D Scanning
Instead of messy impression trays filled with putty, we use a small handheld scanner to capture thousands of high-resolution images of your tooth. The result? A perfect 3-D digital model that's far more accurate than traditional molds.
Custom Design & Milling
Dr. Lopez uses advanced CAD software to design your crown, matching the exact shape, size, and contours of your natural tooth. Then, our in-office milling machine carves your crown from a solid block of medical-grade ceramic—right here, while you wait.
Bonding & Polishing
